Lipstick Addict: Orange & Coral

I seem to gravitate towards any sort of coral or orange lipstick, it started when I first tried a Revlon Lipbutter in Tutti Frutti and I was hooked. When I first thought of writing this post I thought I only had 5 at most coral/orange lipsticks... hmm I was wrong!

Every time I go into Boots I really have to stop myself buying more!

(L-R) Maxfactor Colour Elixir Subtle Coral, Revlon Lip Butter Tutti Frutti, Revlon Lip Butter Juicy Papaya, L'Oreal Rouge Caresse Dating Coral, Kate Rimmel 16, Kate Rimmel 12, Collection Cream Puff Fairy Cake, Revlon Just Bitten Rendezvous & Benefit Cha Cha Tint

My favourites are most definitely Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti and L'Oreal Rouge Caresse in Dating Coral, they both really flatter my complexion and I wear them all year round! In the swatch juicy papaya and dating coral look similar but dating coral is more of a pink shade whereas juicy papaya is more of an orange shade.

Realistically you don't really need both tutti frutti and rendezvous, as the just bitten pens do oxidise to a darker shade, so they end up pretty much the same colour. I also think that they last the same amount of time on your lips, I personally prefer the lip butters formula.

For me the Kate lipsticks and fairy cakes are more spring/summer as they are more opaque and I'm most used to wearing sheer shades, so they are my sunny going out lipsticks.
If I'm honest out of all my coral lipsticks, I regret buying the maxfactor giant pen stick, it's similar to juicy papaya but is much less pigmented and I feel I have to put as much as possible on to get a colour pay off.

I don't think I will ever stop wearing coral lipsticks, I quite like the idea of being a little old lady who always has her coral lipstick on!

Wish List #1

I'm really trying to cut down on my spending and save money, which is proving to be quite difficult when you are an obsessive reader of beauty blogs, there is always a new product that catches my eye! I'm not going to restrict myself to an all out spending ban as I know I wouldn't stick to it, Boots is far too tempting for that, but I am going to be a bit more thoughtful about what I buy, give it a while before I buy it so I can be sure I definitely want it and hopefully it won't be added to the products I regret buying list!

So here are a few pretty products that are on my mind!

- Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream, Sarah mentioned that she liked this at the Fabb event in Newcastle and I've noticed since it's got some pretty good reviews, yes it does just take that for me to become obsessed with a new product.
- Liz Earle Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion, I've been interested in this for a while but haven't bought it as I was never convinced that I would use it, but I recently had a tester Liz Earle facial and they raved about it and suggested it would be useful nearer the wedding.
- L'Oreal Glam Shine Stain Splash, I really really want one of these stains, but I just can't justify buying another lip product :(
- Origins Clear Improvement Mask, I had a sample of this mask and I really liked it, but £20 for a mask...eeek!
- Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch Primer, I'm such a girl and already thinking about wedding makeup, this seems to get a lot of love in the blogosphere.
- Bobbi Brown Under eye Corrector, I really want to try this, I probably should bite the bullet and buy it as I have already wasted £9 on Soap and Glory's under eye brightener, review soon!

Lush Eyeliner: Motivation in a bottle!

I received this Lush eyeliner in my goody bag from the Fabb event in Newcastle on Sunday (post here), I was really excited as I have wanted to try their new makeup range for a long time but the price has always put me off, all of the colours available are £14.50.

You can see my previous post about Colour Therapy at Lush here.

I do love the pipette packaging of the colours, but it is tricky to tell whether the colour is an eyeshadow/liner/lipstick as you have to check the tiny writing on the attached label.
The liner brush itself is flexible so it is a bit harder to get the perfect line if you aren't used to liner, I also found you needed to go over the line a couple of times to get the best colour pay off.
The liners have been made with the same base as the cream eyeshadows so they are designed not to set straight away so you have the option to blend, but if you want a no-smudge liner Independent and Fantasy have been created with a stay put formula.

Excuse the giant eye photo!
This is such a pretty colour, it's not something I would normally pick up but I'm looking forward to using it in the summer when the sun finally comes out!!

You can find Colour Therapy Emotional Brilliance at Lush here.

Fabb Event in Newcastle

Yesterday I went to the Fabb event in Newcastle which was organised by the lovely Tor and Ray, who are the brains behind Fabb events. It was held at Tiger Tiger's Kanaola bar, which was a really cute tiki/hawaiian style beach bar. It was the first bloggers event I had ever been to so I was soo nervous, thankfully the lovely Laura started talking to me on twitter so I knew I would see a familiar face there!
It was great to get to meet other bloggers from the north east, I was very nervous so I did find it quite difficult to approach everyone, which I kind of regret now but I heard it was most people's first event too so I think everyone was in the same situation.

During the event we had a presentation from Rosie at Tinned Bananas, which are a new up and coming fashion brand with some great bright prints they have an amazing look book on their website. Sandra from Get into Newcastle was also there to let us know about some of the events being held for Newcastle Fashion Week in May, personally already I'm looking forward to the Royal Wedding/Bridal show.
There were also twitter giveaways being held throughout the event and I was lucky enough to win a ilah beauty shop eyebrow kit!

It was such a fun event, I really hope there are more events held in the north east!

We were very lucky and every blogger was given such an amazing goody bag, I can't wait to try all the products, I am already loving my Blistex Blush lip balm.

We were also given a ticket to Newcastle's Fashion Week!!

In the Goody Bags we were given a list of everyone's blogs and there are some really great ones! I'm going to add a North East Bloggers section to my 'Blogs I Love' page so everyone can have a look!

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again at the Newcastle Fashion week event!

Thank you for organising a great day Fabb Events!

Lace Obsession

For those that don't know I am currently in the process of planning my wedding, I thought I would give it a couple of weeks after our engagement in September before I went full girly and started looking at wedding dresses, but once I started I couldn't stop and I seem to have developed a lace obsession!

I'm not sure where it's come from but I am literally obsessed with lace wedding dresses, I've been to try some dresses on and have been instantly drawn to any dress with lace detail!
I thought I would share some of my favourite lace dresses from pinterest, they are just sooo pretty!!

I have been lucky enough to find the dress perfect for me... and it is lace!!
