Sleek Face Form Contouring and Blush Palette Review

I recently became a bit obsessed with contouring after watching a Pixiwoo video on the contouring trend, although the video is a couple of years old it was full of great tips. I really wanted to try contouring for myself, I know it should be second nature for a beauty blogger to be able to contour but I have always avoided it as I am soo pale and a bit rubbish so I thought it would look too obvious on me especially as most bronzers you come across are shimmery!

That was until I was having a bit of a nosey on the Sleek website and found their Face Form contouring and blush palette! I had never seen this in the Superdrug before (don't get me started on the poor quality Sleek stands in Superdrug shops! It drives me insane) was this launched on the quiet??

The palette is designed for different skin tones so you can select the palette that will suit you best, I got the palette for fair skin, but there are 4 options to choose from.
The palette itself contains a bronzer, highlighter and blusher.

  • The bronzer is a lovely matte colour that is a perfect shade for my skin tone, the colour is subtle enough for me to confidently experiment with contouring without worrying that I look like I have been tangoed! I have also used this as an eye shadow for a casual daytime look.
  • The highlighter is a really lovely pink shimmer, subtle enough to be used during the day and evening.
  • The blusher is the infamous Rose Gold blush that a whole lot of bloggers raved about, and I can understand why, it is a really gorgeous colour that is very pigmented so you only need to apply a small amount then you can build it up for the colour that you want.

Top - Sleek eye shadow palette, Bottom - Sleek Face Form palette
I was expecting the palette to be quite large but I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived, it is a decent size but definitely small enough to put in your bag for travelling or touch ups. I have compared it to a Sleek eye shadow palette in the photo above so that you have an idea of the size if you do buy it online.

I really love this palette and have been obsessed with it since I bought it, I think it is really good value for £10 considering the rose blush is £5 if bought separately. I did have to pay delivery of £2.95 which was very annoying (Superdrug!) but I kept going on the Sleek website to look at the palette so I decided to just pay the delivery charge and treat myself!

I'm really liking Sleek makeup at the minute!
I also bought their Brow Kit so will do a review soon.

What's in my Handbag? Emma Hardie Amazing Face Cleansing Balm

Whats in my handbag is a great website that I was made aware of a couple of months ago when a lot of bloggers were posting and tweeting links where you could apply for free products.
The website itself is members only but it is really easy to join all you need is an email address, it allows it's members to upload pictures of whats in their bags and has loads of interviews with celebrities and of course pictures of what they have in their bags. They also have pop-up try and buys which is what has caught everyone's attention, they have pop-up offers where you can get products at discounted prices or free 'trys' where you can apply to receive trial size products. I go on the website quite often and always apply for the 'trys' but I don't have much luck and there a limited numbers so I often apply and forget all about it... that was until the other day when I came home to this very lovely delivery!

I had been lucky enough to receive the 15ml trial size of the Emma Hardie Amazing Face natural lift and sculpt moringa cleansing balm, I can't even tell you how much I squealed with delight when I opened the box, Rachel and I have been lusting after this ever since we became obsessed with Caroline Hirons blog where she raves about this product. Caroline Hirons has also been featured on the website a couple of times if you want to find out a bit more information about her and the products she uses.

I can't wait to try this out and will be letting you know my thoughts.

Will you be checking out What's in my handbag?

Collection Cream Puff Moisturising Lip Cream Review

T-B: Angel Delight, Cotton Candy & Fairy Cake

Collection Cream Puff lip creams have been around for a while now, and I have had Cotton Candy & Fairy Cake for ages but had forgotten I even had them until recently when I was having a sort through my makeup and I was having a play round with them (as you do) I instantly remembered how much I love them, so I went out and bought Angel Delight too.

The matte lip trend is set to stay and these lip creams are a great cheap alternative to some expensive brands such as Bobbi Brown's new matte lip creams or even Rimmel's new matte Kate lipsticks.

Collection say the Cream Puff's are a "Velvety soft, matte-finish lip cream. Enriched with a ultra moisturising, vitamin-rich formula, the creamy colour hugs lips to give your pout the perfect powdery finish."

L-R: Cotton Candy, Angel Delight & Fairy Cake

I love how neon Cotton Candy and Fairy Cake are but they are also very wearable, I'm not usually a bright lipstick person but I find these very easy to wear and Fairy Cake is really flattering on my pale skin.

As well as the bright shades there are also 2 neutral shades Angle Delight (swatched above) and Powder Puff, Angel Delight is slightly darker which I prefer in a neutral lip colour, as I have quite pinky lips so if I use a very pale neutral lip colour it just looks wrong on me.

Pros

  • The colours are amazing, I adore all of the colours, it would be great if Collection released more trend shades for each season.
  • The lip creams are perfect for the current matte lip trend, which can bring your makeup look up to date, they are also an investment as the matte lip trend looks to be big in spring/summer 2013 too.
  • Price, at £2.99 they are an absolute bargain!!
  • The lip creams really last on your lips, and wear off evenly so you don't end up with dreaded lip liner lips.

Cons
  • They can be a little drying but as I have quite dry lips anyway I just ensure that I apply lip balm first before the Cream Puff colour.
  • The colour selection isn't great, only 4 shades, which are neutral or bright, which could put people off especially as it is now Autumn so people always head for berry shades, although I do think that Angel Delight is a great autumn daytime colour.

Would I repurchase?
Definitely I love these lip creams, I would buy every shade if I hadn't already...

Have you tried the Cream Puff lip creams yet?
